The gearbox bears the force from the wind wheel and the reaction force generated when the gear is driven. It must have enough rigidity to bear the force and torque, prevent deformation and ensure the transmission quality. The gearbox box shall be designed in accordance with the layout, processing and assembly conditions of the power transmission of the wind turbine unit, and the requirements for easy inspection and maintenance.

According to the modular design principle of unit structure, the gearbox greatly reduces the types of parts, and is suitable for large-scale production and flexible selection. The spiral bevel gear and helical gear of the reducer are carburized and quenched with high quality alloy steel. The hardness of the tooth surface is as high as 60 ± 2hrc, and the grinding accuracy of the tooth surface is as high as 5-6 grades.

The gearbox has the following functions:

1. Acceleration and deceleration, that is to say, gearbox.

2. Change the direction of transmission, for example, we can use two sector gears to transfer the force vertically to another rotating shaft.

3. Change the moment of rotation. Under the same power condition, the faster the speed of the gear, the smaller the torque on the shaft, and vice versa.

4. Clutch function: we can separate the engine from the load by separating the two gears originally meshed. For example, brake clutch, etc.

5. Distribute power. For example, we can use one engine to drive multiple driven shafts through the gearbox main shaft, so as to realize the function of one engine driving multiple loads.
